Please note: Aetna members of any one of the Medical, Dental or Vision plans listed above, can enjoy a 10 percent discount from specific CVS oral care products. An exclusive member website features more than 50 CVS oral health products. The additional 10% off may also be applied to sale items.
Columbia Dental
As announced during annual enrollment for 2022, the Columbia Dental plan will be discontinued as an option effective December 31, 2022. We’re here to help you transition to the Aetna PPO or DMO plans.
Aetna network dental providers
We've provided a directory that lists the Columbia Dental providers and indicates whether they participate in either the Aetna DMO or PPO networks. Many of them do, in which case you can continue to receive care from the same dental provider you saw under the Columbia Dental plan on an in-network basis under an NYP Aetna dental plan.
Please note, the DMO provides great value but keep in mind that it covers in-network services only, and has a limited provider network. With a PPO plan, you have coverage for both in- and out-of-network providers.
Important tip: You can search for your provider within this directory through your browser’s search feature. For PC’s, this can be done by pressing the Ctrl and F keys simultaneously, then typing your provider’s name in the search bar that appears. For Macs, press the Command and F keys simultaneously then type your provider’s name in the search bar that appears.
There are also many more Aetna providers that will be available to you as well. You can search for Aetna network dental providers in the Dental Plans section on the Check Your Doctor page of this website.
ID cards
When you enroll in an Aetna dental plan during annual enrollment in the fall, you can expect to receive letter from Aetna. There are no member ID cards issued for the dental plans. Please note: the group number for the Aetna dental plans is 109045.
