Aetna Contract Negotiation Update

NewYork-Presbyterian has reached an agreement with your health benefits administrator, Aetna. This means the high-quality care that NewYork-Presbyterian Hospitals and NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group clinical practices provide to our patients will continue to be covered as in-network with no interruption. For our employees with NYP Aetna medical plans, although structures were put in place to keep NYP-Aetna covered employees within network, those mitigations are no longer necessary. You will continue to receive in-network care at NYP without any additional intervention.

Gender Affirming Care Resource

The Gender Affirming Support Resource page on the Aetna Member website includes features to help find gender affirming care and medical and behavioral health providers, access to an Aetna Service Advocate with gender affirming experience for dedicated support, and more. To visit the Support Center, log into the Aetna Health member website and choose “Health and Wellness” from the menu bar, then click on “Transgender Support Center.” To access an Aetna Service Advocate, call Aetna at 1-866-267-1091 (TTY: 711) and select Option 0 for a call back.

Checking your doctor is easy.

Find doctors and dentists by name, specialty and location with the provider search tool. There, you'll also find maps, directions and know if doctors or dentists speak your language.

In addition, don’t forget that NYP has a special group of NewYork-Presbyterian-affiliated physicians that accept Aetna only for NYP employees and their covered family members. These providers are in-network for you and your covered family members. You can see if your provider is on this special list.

Question about RSV vaccine coverage?

The RSV vaccine will be covered under either Aetna medical plans when determined to be medically necessary for the prevention of lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV in members age 60 and older.
